A few years ago while working at a grocery store, one of my friends told a new employee that I was a famous Christian Country musician. He told her this strictly because that title is the exact opposite of who I am. Regardless, I still felt that it was necessary to play the part. Because why not?
When I checked out in her lane a few moments later, she asked me if I truly was a famous Christian Country musician. So naturally, I responded with an arrogant "YES."
"What songs have you done?" she asked.
Since I was absolutely unprepared, I blurted out the first string of words I could think of that hopefully got the point across that I was definitely Christian, and that I was definitely a country musician.
"Uhh... Drunk on...God's...Love?"
"Hmm, I haven't heard of it."
"It's pretty new. I'll bring you in a copy tomorrow."
And that's when I realized that I totally screwed myself. In order to disguise my blatant lie as absolute truth, I had to go home that night, write a song called "Drunk on God's Love," record it, and bring it to her in twelve hours. So I did. And this is what I came up with.
Someone purchsed a
